Simulink is a simulation
and model-based design environment for dynamic and embedded systems. Simulink
also developed by MathWorks. It is fully integrated with MATLAB, and, together
with MATLAB and the Control System Toolbox, forms a complete control system
design and analysis environment.
It is a data flow
graphical programming language tool for modeling, simulating and analysing
multi-domain dynamic systems. It is basically a graphical block diagramming
tool with customizable set of block libraries. It allows you to incorporate
MATLAB algorithms into models as well as export the simulation results into MATLAB
for further analysis. It can handle linear, nonlinear, continuous-time,
discrete-time, multivariable systems.
Simulink runs on
workstations using X-Windows, under Microsoft Windows on the PC, and on the
Macintosh. It takes full advantage of windowing technology, including pull-down
windows and mouse interactions.
Simulink is capable of
systematic verification and validation of models through modeling style
checking, requirements traceability and model coverage analysis. Simulink Design
Verifier allows you identify design errors and generates test case scenarios
for model checking.
Simulink supports:
·
System-level
design.
·
Simulation.
·
Automatic
code generation.
·
Testing and
verification of embedded systems.
